Scotlandville Sports Academy

COACHES
Each athletic activity has volunteer coaches consisting of former Scotlandville Sports Academy Hornets? players, parents, community residents, college students (Southern University A&M College & Louisiana State University), and retired coaches from the various local high schools. The volunteer coaches (four (4) per team) coach and assist in teaching the youth the fundamentals of the sport as well as team discipline and sportsmanship. Before each athletic activity, youth will have an initial opportunity to learn the fundamentals of the perspective sport during a camp hosted and coordinated by Scotlandville Sports Academy and volunteer coaches. Volunteer coaches are expected to complete a Scotlandville Sports Academy application and participate in the Scotlandville Sports Academy?s Volunteer Orientation.

LOUISIANA YOUTH COACHES ALLIANCE

Louisiana Youth Coaches Alliance is a non-profit community based organization formed to provide urban youth with positive alternatives to the streets. Louisiana Youth Coaches Alliance is focused on the developmental enrichment of all its members and programs. Louisiana Youth Coaches Alliance reviews, regulates, governs, and supervises all forms of youth athletics in the East Baton Rouge Parish communities. The organization, with community, church, and the Park & Recreation Commission for the East Baton Rouge Parish?s (BREC) support, is determined to create an understanding, develop respect, inspire leadership, foster teamwork, establish discipline, and nurture love amongst our youth & communities through athletics and educational programs.

Louisiana Youth Coaches Alliance?s mission is to utilize organized and structured athletics as a tool to enlighten and cultivate the development of well rounded youth through establishing a foundation of the following life skills:

• Responsibility; Goal Setting; Sportsmanship; Self Control; Smart Decisions; Teamwork; Leadership; Perseverance

Louisiana Youth Coaches Alliance will promote the building of this foundation throughout its programs and by its members.

Louisiana Youth Coaches Alliance is committed to the furthering of education of all its? members in all aspects of athletics (coaching, officiating, rules, child development, first aid, team management, etc.).

Membership in the Alliance is open to all parties interested in furthering the value of youth athletics. Members will be required to participate in an annual membership fee. This membership fee will be utilized to fulfill the mission of the Alliance .
