ACCOMPLISHMENTS
In our short organizational life, we have provided programming for youth through the following accomplishments:

»  Taught and introduced 104 youth the fundamentals of baseball and Scotlandville Sports Academy's Inaugural Baseball Camp held on March 17, 2001

»  Provided an opportunity for 72 youth to "stay off the urban streets of Baton Rouge" by allowing to become baseball players on our four (4) Scotlandville Hornets Baseball teams (Coaches' Pitch, 9-10 year old Fast Pitch, and two (2) 11-12 year old Fast Pitch) May - July 2001

»  Held Inaugural Scotlandville Sports Academy Preseason Baseball Tournament (11-12 year olds) on April 21-22, 2001 for eight (8) area teams

»  Enhanced family and team member fellowship by hosting the Inaugural Family All-Star Weekend for the four (4) Scotlandville Hornets Baseball teams and their immediate family members during the weekend of July 14-15, 2001

»  Hosted in conjunction with NFL football player Gabe Northern, the most productive and well-attended Football Camp of the summer. 372 youth registered and participated in the Inaugural Gabe Northern Summer Football Camp on July 21, 2001. Youth ages 5-18 had an opportunity to learn the fundamentals of football as well as learning how to maintain positive attitudes and being a good team member

»  Presented on August 4, 2001 the Inaugural Hornets Hole In One Benefit Golf Classic to support Scotlandville Sports Academy's Fall and Winter programs

»  Hosted a Baseball Achievement Banquet on August 8, 2001 for the four (4) 2001 Scotlandville Hornets Baseball teams. All players received recognition for remaining consistent and dedicated over the 2001 Summer Season

»  Hosted our Inaugural Scotlandville Sports Academy Cheerleader Camp, for girls ages 7 through 18, on August 11, 2001. With the assistance of the Southern University A& M College Cheerleader Squad, we were able to educate youth on the fundamentals and skills of cheerleading, which encompassed cheers, chants, dance drills, and pyramids

»  Began the Fall 2001 Football Season (August 1 through November 24) with three (3) Scotlandville Hornets Tackle Football Teams serving one hundred eight (108) youth boys ages 8 through 14. The Scotlandville Hornets Tackle Football Teams consist of a PeeWee Tackle Team, a Junior Tackle Team, and a Senior Tackle Team. These teams practice Monday thru Friday and play their games on Saturdays

»  Coordinated the 2001 Scotlandville Sports Academy / Saints NFL Flag Football League consisting of youth boys ages 4 through 8. The Scotlandville Sports Academy / Saints NFL Flag Football League is the first in the city of Baton Rouge and the only active NFL Flag League in the state of Louisiana. The 2001 Scotlandville Sports Academy / Saints NFL Flag Football League is hosted in the Scotlandville community where youth in low-income families are given an opportunity to learn the basic skills of football and to build their confidence in an organized sport. All games are played on Sunday from September 30 through November 17

»  Organized the 2001 Scotlandville Sports Academy - Boys and Girls Club - BREC /NFL Punt, Pass, and Kick Competition held on August 25, 2001 for all youth ages 5 through 15

»  Coordinated three (3) Scotlandville Hornets Cheerleading Squads for young girls ages 5 through 14 to cheer along the side of the three (3) Scotlandville Hornets Tackle Football Teams

»  Held Pep Rallies for the three (3) Scotlandville Hornets Tackle Football Teams, to promote team spirit, team work, and community support, lead by the three (3) Scotlandville Hornets Cheerleading Squads

»  Hosted Louisiana Safe Night, in conjunction with the Baton Rouge Police Department, to educate youth on safety against gun violence, drug use, peer pressure, child abuse, and other juvenile problems
